Hello everyone,
during the last EMEA irc meeting, I proposed that we should make sure all active
communities within our region are equipped with basic booth equipment such as
roll-up banners and tableclothes.
Currently, there is just one or two tableclothes for the whole region. Not every
community has its own roll-up banners and while some do, these are not anymore
in a proper working condition (e.g. colors have started fading out, stands are
showing signs of heavy use).
Spending budget on such an initiative can be considered a good investment, since
the equipment produced will last for years and will enable our communities to
look overall more professional when representing the project during events and
conferences. We still have a significant amount of the current fiscal year's
budget unspent and we can definitely use some of it.
Does your community lack some booth equipment? Please visit the following wiki
page and let us know:

Hey Brian, thanks for dropping a line!
The event you're describing sounds like something that would be up the
ally of the Fedora Ambassadors, which is the group of Fedora
contributors who focus on advocacy and representing Fedora in the field.
I'm including that list in this reply to spread the word there, and
hopefully any Ambassadors in the London area might be interested.
I'm not sure if you're already subscribed to the list, but I have you
CC'd here so any Ambassadors in the area can reach out to you if they wish.
Thanks for putting this on our radar. :)

Hi,
in regular intervals, members of the Fedora Council report status of
their projects. On Monday, it was my turn to report about the current
state of FAmSCo and our efforts of transitioning to FOSCo, the "Fedora
Outreach Steering Committee".
I'd like to take this opportunity to kick off a new round of
discussions about FOSCo. Here are a few links to get started:
* Recording or our hangout https://youtu.be/eOCmB1xHCqQ
* Slides I used during the hangout: https://goo.gl/cH4h4e
* Meeting minutes:
https://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-meeting-1/2016-05-23/fedora_counci…
* FAmSco ticket with latest discussion:
https://fedorahosted.org/famsco/ticket/373
The idea of FOSCo dates back to 2014, time for us to finally make it
happen. Our goal is to have a design ready by/at FLOCK and then make a
smooth transition as part of the next regular elections.
That's why we are looking forward to your questions and ideas. I tried
to give as much background as possible, but if you think that my
summary was quite right or have other concerns, please let me know.
Best regards,
Christoph
P.S.: @FAmSCo members: For maximum participation and transparency,
please use one of the public mailing lists (ambassadors or
council-dicsuss, but not famsco).
Hello Ambassadors!
Today on the Community Blog, a new article was published about
organizing a release party for Fedora 24. Some of you may be very
familiar with this, others might be hearing about these for the first
time. To learn more, check out this article:
https://communityblog.fedoraproject.org/fedora-24-have-a-party/
A release party is a great way to connect with other Fedora fans in your
local community, and you can also earn a badge for celebrating a party
in your area too.
F24 is just around the corner, so if you think you want to organize a
release party, it's best to start planning sooner than later.
Happy celebrating!
