[Urgent]where is the picture that shows "Show details..."

Hi, Anaconda list. I have a problem. I want to change the background picture. but i'm fail to find the right picture. anyone can help me? The picture is that it will shows "Show details..." during the Fedora Core5 run the scripts in /etc/init.d/. so i want to know the picture name. Very Very Very Thanks. Regards. Kevin.

Hi all, Two new packages were added to FC6 yesterday. I assume that I can put systemtap-runtime right under systemtap with the same attributes. I can't figure out where kdeaccessibility-devel goes. Any ideas? TIA. -- Bill in Denver

Updating the UI during %post

When imaging our servers we run a rather lengthly customization phase using the %post section. The entire installation is probably 30% stock, and 70% %post. It would be helpful if I could update the UI during the %post phase both to indicate progress and for debugging purposes. I have a few thoughts on how I could do this, and wanted feedback on them. 1.) Create a fifo, and have anaconda read from it, and %post write to it. Message will be forward to the UI, and displayed. While this is probably the easiest solution, it will not work for me because I chroot to /mnt/sysimage and then do customization. (I could skip the chroot, but that would be a bigger pain for the customization stuff. I also assume most other people chroot as well.) 2.) Start an XML-RPC server, and have it relay messages from %post to anaconda. This may be to heavy weight. 3.) Just like the fifo idea except create a TCP/UDP server, and forward all messages to the UI. Questions, comments? Thanks, Christopher

FC6 anaconda display problem

hello all, i have tried FC6 test3 and final release, the same display problem all happened during install. after start anaconda stage2, i.e. startx, the screen overlap. it seemed that several screens overlap with each other. my notebook is IBM A21p, whose optimized resolution is 1600x1200 i have try different install resolution through options "linux resolution=*x*", including 640x480, 800x600, 1600x1200, 1028x764, the problem is still there.

Factoring RPM sets

I may have asked this question before, but I don't remember seeing an answer that I grokked. Maybe I didn't ask the question correctly. My question is this: Suppose we have an install disk with a repo on it that specifies the following package sets (hypothetically) @SYSTEM = sbin sbin-utils sbin-diags devices core modsupport @DEVEL-BASE = gcc bin-utils gdb gprof gld ... I'd like to be able to come up with a compact notation for expressing what is on an installed system using the package sets with additions/ deletions. For example, suppose the running system has: ... sbin sbin-utils sbin-diags devices core gcc bin-utils gdb gprof gld gas ... then this could be represented as: @SYSTEM - modsupport @DEVEL-BASE +gas rather than just the complete list of packages. Why? I suspect that there might have been some package sets installed on an FC3 server that are no longer necessary, or that the composition of certain package sets has changed in FC5, so that if (for instance) gthumb has been replaced by eog in a certain package set, that when I install the package set it comes with the default packages for that distro. It also would be useful to know what had been removed from certain package sets (i.e. why modsupport was removed from the SYSTEM set). Is there an easy way to compute this? Thanks, -Philip P.S. How to pause installer after "Media Check screen" done

Hi, I have a specific need where I need to pause after "Media Check" screen. After Media check is done/ignored and installer continued, I need to command prompt (by pressing CRTL+ALT+F2). I tried few boot options but couldn't achieve it. Please note I am trying this on a diskless system with USB CDROM attached as an installation media. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or pointers. Thanks, Naren

Thanks for your reply. When reproducing to give the exact error, I've noticed that the problem is not in anaconda or with the kernel. Mixing up kernel versions is not supposed to work, duh... I was still booting with an 2.6.11 kernel, but the installation images, like initrd.img were prepared for 2.6.17. A real stupid mistake, oh well... Cheers, Niels
