need XFS in anaconda (i.e. mounting XFS while installing(

Hi I am trying to integrate XFS,JFS,ReiserFS2 in anconada ; while install getting error "failed to insert modules xfs" ,but I am able to make partitions & format it too without any error. I want to mount XFS,JFS,Reiserfs while installing only. regards Parimal

If you could (have a time), would you check these question, please? 1. in this case, do you think it is better that kudzu(not anaconda) care about it? 2. PATCH:collect keyboard corresponding selected lang in chooseKeyboard

Hi, As you know, Japanese(and other some language) font column of lang-table is none. so even if user select Japanese as Language, default keyboard is not also set to jp106. so I made patch which check loaderData->lang before "LANG". Would you review attached file, please? thank you.

patch for add iscsi target problem

Hi, The patch can fix three problem of iscsi configuration. In GUI install method, 1. choose "Add iSCSI target" and add driver, anaconda will show the "Enable network interface", after configuring network, press OK, it will return to the partition method page, it should go to the iscsi configuration. 2. we need use _handleIPMissing function in the netconfig_dialog.py so as to handle IPMissing exception like class NetworkWindow of network_gui.py. 3. when isys.configNetDevice() raise an exception in the netconfig_dialog.py, I think anaconda should show error window, not only use log.error() Please check the patch,thank you very much.

mkinitrd creation while Fedora installation with anaconda

Hello everybody, I am trying to resolve an issue about anaconda but I need some clues in order to do that. I am building a custom Fedora Distribution. The installation is made using anaconda. For the kernel, I made my own RPM with my specific spec file. My RPM seems to be OK : when I install it, mkinitrd is created and it is possible for me to boot on the kernel installed with this RPM. But when I put this RPM on my CD and when I try to make a fresh installation, the initrd file is not generated and as a consequence, it is impossible for me to boot on the kernel. I tried to look at the anaconda code but I am not a python specialist. That's why I would want to know what is the necessary condition for anaconda to create the initrd file while the installation. When I searched on the code, I found that the initrd is created when some modules are present (foundModule variable set to 1 which launchs the recreateInitrd function) but I can't find precisely what is needed in order to modify my spec file. Does anybody can give me more precisions about this issue ? Thank your for your answers Best Regards, Olivier BONHOMME

Interesting anaconda/yum performance issue

To solve a class a problems in a project I'm working on, I'm using kickstart files which explicitly list each package which should be installed on the new system. This works, but can make anaconda horribly slow. Using cProfile, it appears that we're calling buildPkgRefDict for each explicitly listed package -- at a cost of nearly a half-second per call (3GigHz P4). Clearly this gets to be rather expensive when the package list is long -- a typical install is over 600 packages. We're burning an absurd amount of time here. Using @group syntax does not suffer from this problem. So clearly there's a path through anaconda which does not need to call buildPkgRefDict so often. Any thoughts/suggestions/comments on how to do something about this? Jeff
