Hey All,
I would like to announce that Fedora APAC hasn't seen an active storyteller. It's time for us is to propose names and then vote in a new storyteller. A ticket has been created for people to discuss and propose names for next 2 weeks , post which we can count the most number of votes for the person and onboard him/her as a new APAC storyteller.

Is the Fedora community in APAC sufficiently aware of the impact of the role to be able to nominate a suitable candidate?

I am not sure if pure voting is the right method. Should we not encourage the nominated candidates to demonstrate their willingness to step up and contribute to this valuable role?

Bumping up this topic/conversation. I see almost no activity at the ticket. This would lead me to conclude that there's practically no interest in anyone to step up to this role. Or, it might lead me to conclude that there is a general lack of understanding of how the role creates impact for the region.
This is very concerning. It would almost seem like processes have a stranglehold on the ability to move ahead. If the decision during the meeting was that voting is the way ahead, should we not expect an increased level of enthusiasm and participation?

I think the challenge here includes that the role is defined in a way that makes it sound huge. Few regions have had great success to use as a model. This role predates my time as FCAIC, however it may be worth revisiting how it should work. Regards,

It is certainly worth looking into it. In the conversations leading up to the ticket I have pointed out that there needs to be very clear understanding about the impact of the role and the demands it will make on the individual stepping up to it.
How does one initiate a revisit and thus not leave the APAC region without a story teller?
