I there a way to test new GIMP 2.7/2.8 in Fedora? I looked in Rawhide
repos and I still see only 2.6x versions there. Any plans to put 2.7 in
Rawhide repost for testing purposes?

Hi,
What do you think about this as a screen-saver ?
Maybe some animations could be made, but I don't know still what.
Do you have any suggestions ?!
Regards
There is an update now with those corrections included. I'm thinking
about the suggestion to use something generic. The Fedora logo (alone)
looks like a good candidate. What do you think? If we agree to have a
Live-CD icon, who takes care of its inclusion in the subsequent media
(autorun.inf etc.)?
Should we agree to have variants, then I think the Blue disk (no
lighting) is cool. I've tested it on most of the wallpapers that ship
with Fedora ... not bad.
I'll pause for input for the meantime.

You wanted abstract - You got it. Here is a picture I found of davis-monthan-air-force base. I fist saw the image in an article in a newspaper. At first I thought it was Egyptian hieroglyphics. Then i saw a link, Hieroglyphs are historic and so is goddard. Abstarcting this as hieroglyphics might make a good wallpaper.

Hi,
I don't know who is responsible for the screensaver, but can't somebody make a plug-in to enable it playing .gif animations from the picture folder, like for example the attached one.

Hi,
constantine-backgrounds-extras-12.1.1-3.fc13.noarch.rpm
compiled successfully under f11 (it may be included in the repository list).
the package
constantine-backgrounds-12.1.1-3.fc13.noarch.rpm
however does not compile in f11.

Morning!
I wanted to do this for a long time and finally got off my butt, so here goes:
My name is Fabian Scherschel (call me Fab, that's easier for everyone)
and I hail from Bonn, Germany. I've been using Fedora on-and-off since
I stumbled into FUDCon 2009 kind of by accident and full time since
F12 came out. I have been using Linux since about 2005 and full time
since summer 2007. In all that time I've tried to contribute as best I
can with limited coding knowledge, mostly triaging and reporting bugs
and such. I've been meaning for ages to apply the other skill set I
have, ie. designing things, to the community as well and I've signed
up here to finally do that. I can draw passably by hand and usually
use the GIMP and whenever possible Inkscape to design stuff. I am
pretty good at drawing things (especially abstract stuff like logos),
people and animals aren't my strong suit.
As for some samples, I need to get that section of my site back up but
if you have a look at the artwork for the Linux Outlaws podcast -
http://linuxoutlaws.com - I've done all that. I have also designed the
Hull LUG logo - http://hulllug.org - and had a design in the
Manchester Free Software logo competition which unfortunately lost:
http://groups.fsf.org/wiki/Manchester/Logo_Competition#Logo_Number:_.231
& http://groups.fsf.org/wiki/Manchester/Logo_Competition#Logo_Number:_.232
I also do all the design work for OggCamp - http://oggcamp.org There's
probably more stuff but I can't remember now, I always design things.
Any questions? Feel free to ask. :)
I am looking forward to working with you all and contributing to Fedora!
Fab
P.S.: If you want to see what I'm up to and talk to me more real-time,
I'm on Identica as @fabsh.
I have updated the Proposed Live-CD Icon.
Comments and inputs please ....
