I brought this up on the desktop list a few months ago, when the plugin that was shipped with Fedora stopped working. I got the _impression_ that the recommended way to install GNOME Shell extensions is via gnome-software. In any case, the "chrome plugin" works with Firefox despite its name. P.S.: Gmail keeps blocking my attempts to reply, I may have inadvertently spammed the list with multiple identical messages.

swap file instead of partition?

On Reddit, someone asked me if there are plans to switch to swap files (as Ubuntu has) rather than making a partition by default. Do we have any such plans? native host connector is not detected

Came across this article https://fedoramagazine.org/must-have-gnome-extension-gtile/ Which directs me here https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/28/gtile/ I get the GNOME Shell integration add-on installed but still see this message: --Although GNOME Shell integration extension is running, native host connector is not detected. Refer documentation for instructions about installing connector.-- The documentation link points to: https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GnomeShellIntegrationForChrome/Installation But I'm not using Chrome, this is the Firefox that's packaged for Fedora. So now I'm confused and have no idea how to install the gTILE extension, or any other extension for that matter. Bug? Where to file? -- Chris Murphy

What are the plans for bwrap and flatpak?

Hi all, I've been using flatpak packages for a while and like the idea of bwrap pretty much, mainly because it improves privilege separation and management. I'm not 100% convinced on flatpak, but it keeps improving. Anyway I think both projects have completely separate (though compatible) goals and might need to be handled separately. Now I am curious: 1. Do you plan on sandboxing GUI applications shipped through rpm/dnf? If yes, is there a timeline? Are regressions (sandboxed app vs. same app without sandbox) considered bugs, and if yes, where should I file bug reports? 2. Do you plan replacing the GNOME packages shipped through rpm/dnf by packages shipped through flatpak? Or is this an option for the far future? Or do you want to keep shipping two separate ways of installing GUI applications?

Proposal: Add Google Chrome repo to fedora-workstation-repositories

Hi everyone, we've worked with Google to make sure that the way they ship Chrome meets our requirements for third party software inclusion. Appdata file which was the last missing piece is now shipped with the beta of the next version, so I think it's time to propose the Workstation Working Group that we add the Google Chrome repository to fedora-workstation- repositories.
