Color Profile Viewer

Hi, Color Profile Viewer (gnome-color-manager) has always been installed by default but its desktop file has been hidden (NoDisplay=true). In F22 it is now visible so that a user can actually find it, and so that it can be installable via GNOME Software. I'm pretty sure we don't want it installed by default anymore, so I'll remove it from comps if there are no objections. Michael

Changes in the f22 workstation

I wanted to give a heads-up to the wider audience about a number of workstation changes that are landing in the f22 branch (and rawhide) this week, in time for the alpha freeze next week: - The message tray at the bottom is gone, notifications are now shown at the top, and can be reviewed in the calendar popup ( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/GnomeShell_NewNotifications) - The gnome-shell theme has been refreshed - The login screen is using Wayland ( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Login_Screen_Over_Wayland) - Codec installation has been integrated in gnome-software (currently this is hooked up in totem) - Nautilus has received a number of improvements ( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Nautilus_Improvements) Please let us know if you see any fallout from these changes. Open seat on WG

Christoph Wickert announced in the WG meeting yesterday he's stepping down due to lack of available time: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/desktop/2015-February/011612.html So this leaves us an open seat to fill. I am planning to write a blog entry on it to encourage interested people to volunteer. The WG is responsible for selecting an appropriate candidate. Third party repos

I wanted to resurface the third party repository topic before we get to next week's meeting. Currently we have the following page drafted that discusses the new disabled repo feature currently in Fedora 22 Workstation: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Workstation/3rdPartyApps Currently there's a policy from the Council (nee Board) on third party repos here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Third_Party_Repository_Policy This policy doesn't address one of the problems I believe we're trying to solve in software -- making developer access to non-libre (but legally OK) tools on Fedora less convoluted and burdensome. So there's not just the question of implementation and curation, but also getting a policy change approved by the Council. -- Paul W. testing qt theme

Hi, just a reminder: we do have the adwaita-qt theme included in the workstation for f22, and qt4 apps will pick it up automatically. Now (or when the alpha appears) would be a great time to try out your favourite qt apps and provide feedback on places where the theme needs more work. Matthias
