When you start a KDE app on another machine you get messages like:
Link points to "/tmp/ksocket-orion" Link points to "/tmp/kde-orion" kbuildsycoca running... Reusing existing ksycoca DCOP Cleaning up dead connections.
You get similar messages when you run as another user locally:
Creating link /home/visitor/.kde/socket-cynosure. Created link from "/home/visitor/.kde/socket-cynosure" to "/tmp/ksocket-visitor" Creating link /home/visitor/.kde/tmp-cynosure. Created link from "/home/visitor/.kde/tmp-cynosure" to "/tmp/kde-visitor" kbuildsycoca running... Creating link /home/visitor/.kde/cache-cynosure. Created link from "/home/visitor/.kde/cache-cynosure" to "/var/tmp/kdecache-visitor"
Is there any way to silence these messages or to make the whole process more lightweight?
Thanks!

Other than redirecting the output to /dev/null, I'm not aware of one. You might have better luck asking in fedora-list instead.
