Hi,
I was confused why desktop still asked for password even when i set the Automatic login feature to ON. I submitted the bug as below: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=786663
As you can see, they think that is a feature, not a bug, so it was closed. It leaves me wondering: what is that automatic login feature really for?!!

On the other hand it *might* be a security issue if the keyring would be unlocked automaticly too. So IMHO the current status quo is a good solution for all.

Thanks for the reply,
According to the thread reply I can "solve" the issue by setting empty password for user.
But I would like to comment on the layout of user account. Such issue would not be raised had it not been the conspicuous switch to turn auto-login ON or OFF "easily". I mean, I still don't understand why there is such a button, when it can't function as expected from people who use it?

Giving automatic access to all passwords isn't good idea, but I think it should be allowed. I didn't like keyring applets on other DE's, as I don't like popping windows. Integration is very good idea. You'll need that passwords sooner or not it's smart to unlock them on the start-up.
But I think it isn't important right now. Here is what I suspect. This is not yet fully implemented feature, and will be fixed soon. It's not a bug because it's left intentionally. I found some things like this recently, for example inability to resize settings window. But I can't be sure.

You are automatically logged in. It asks for a password for the key-ring and not to login. You do not have to enter a password into the box.
If you do not wish to enter a password then do not use a password but remember security is all what Linux is about.

Hi,
I understand the importance of security in Linux. I just want to reflect on my Fedora desktop experience, especially with the logic of those features. Since Fedora is going minimalist with gnome-shell, these simple flaws will only add more confusion to the already not-so-easy-to-adapt interface...

Also, as another point of issue, I cannot set the user account to "Login in wit

In F17, whenever I'm prompted for a keyring passphrase, there's an 'unlock this key automatically whenever I log in' (or something like that) checkbox. This may be what you want.
