Seeing as Rawhide builds were just set to enable Wayland by default this last weekend, and no Workstation builds of Rawhide have succeeded since the switch, is there any value just leaving it on Rawhide until branch? If it's really troublesome to use it, then that's one thing, but if there's a good chance of stumbling upon currently unknown problems, that'll inherently have value.
Just adding our bit to the Wayland readiness: Jan Grulich recently tested KDE/Qt apps running on GNOME on Wayland in Rawhide. They run on XWayland, the native support is still too young to enable it by default. He was having a problem with disappearing mouse cursor. It doesn't seem to be Qt specific because he experienced it in Firefox as well and I've seen couple of similar bug reports. It's rather specific to XWayland. Anyway, it's another thing I would consider a blocker because it draws running apps on XWayland unusable.

This is fixed in xwayland upstream. Should be a matter of including the patch[0] on the rpm.

I have some additions too. Too bad that I had to miss the meeting; some facts were a bit misrepresented there, I think.
Input method support basically works - We are using IBus client-side over dbus; it couldn't care less if you are using X11 or Wayland. The one thing that currently works less well under Wayland is positioning of the candidate window. Rui promised me a fix for that for today.

I think we should revisit this at the next meeting, if the relevant people can show up. We were hoping that by moving the date of the meeting (we knew you and Christian couldn't make it last week), and devoting the meeting to Wayland readiness only, the right people would be present. Oh well, these things happen.
Let's also make sure this wiki page:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Wayland_features#input_methods
is updated to accurately reflect the current status of Wayland support in Workstation (e.g. input methods are listed as 0% complete there).

Agreed. I've been playing catch up today after travel, but will make this our agenda for Wednesday's meeting.

From the notes:
15:27:43 <mcatanzaro> At one point, I believe we also represented that we would only switch to Wayland by default once the previous Fedora release had fully-functioning Wayland, and that's clearly not the case in F23. (I'm not sure that's necessarily a good requirement, though.)
I think this is a good approach, and I've told a lot of people about it, and have consistantly gotten good feedback. We've done really well with making the Fedora user trendline go up in the last few releases (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DklOE_X2dM8 if you haven't already) and I'd really like that to continue. Getting new tech into Fedora is important ("First!"), and so is enabling new functionality ("Features!"), but let's be sure-footed with big changes like this.
