I have installed F24 on my T440s. I very rarely can get an external monitor to work outside of my docking station. Whenever I go into a conference room it won't recognize the external display OR it will recognize it but the display won't turn on. I have tried everything in the way of troubleshooting that I can think of. Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution?

I've rarely seen issues with Lenovo devices, you do need to going into the display control panel and explicitly enable it and choose primary/secondary/mirror otherwise they generally do remain off.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that and typically the display doesn't even show up as a secondary option for me to enable.

I think I may have the same problem as you: it will be interesting to see if upgrading to F25 helps or not. I am not sure whether it is a hardware or software problem.
When coming back to my desk I usually have to plug in the monitor cable half-dozen times these days for the gnome desktop to move to my monitor...

ps T440* was kind of a disaster anyway with no physical mouse buttons. :-( So stay away if you can IMO though otherwise it works well enough.

Yes, this sounds very similar. It _seems_ to have gotten better over the past few days so maybe an update has mostly resolved it. I'm a bit hesitant to upgrade to F25 just yet as I'm really starting to feel my "groove" with F24.
