Hi, I just upgraded to F13. It's nice. "Subpixel smoothing" options should be per-monitor

Hi, all: This is fairly obvious, but I couldn't find anything in bugzilla, so I'll mention it here. I have a docking station and an LCD monitor connected to it. When I dock, I have two screens -- one that's attached to my laptop, another that is external. That part works fine. However, I run into problems when I set up sub-pixel smoothing. My laptop is VRGB, while my external LCD is RGB. There's currently no option (that I see) to set up sub-pixel smoothing tweaks per-monitor, while there really should be, because I either have colourful fonts on one screen or the other screen. How this bug can come out of its dead-end? Any suggestions?!

Hi all, There is a bug in Fedora package management since FC4 (except Fedora 8) that potentially affects ALL of the Fedora installation DVD users (people who are not annoyed by this bug will probably find other alternatives more suitable (e.g. Live CD install, Network install or the new BFO if I spell correctly!)). The reason that this bug is still open is not technical, but almost completely political. And as I see it in the current state, it is not going to be fixed anytime soon. The mentioned bug is this one: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=435625 (installation media support in PackageKit). While a user can create a repo file for the DVD's mount point and go with it, but that is not acceptable for a new user to live with such a solution. It is really annoying that the installation DVD is useless for an ordinary user after installation. And this is really unfortunate that this bug is still open because of such small issues. I need help with python-xlib

Backstory. I voluntarily adopted python-xlib when it was orphaned by its original maintainer as it is part of istanbul's depchain. The client side windows work that went into gtk has played havoc with how istanbul makes use of python-xlib in the F12 timeframe. Thanks to some other people, who understand how the new gtk client side windows stuff works were able to help me track down the most frequently reported crash condition and produced a patch for istanbul. I am very much appreciative of that help. But I think there are other problems associated with how python-xlib is being used in conjunction to the switch to client side windows in gtk Not just in istanbul, but in gmixer as well. I could really use some help reviewing the crash reports filed against python-xlib and the applications that use it, and see if we can't get the applications or python-xlib patched to work correctly with the gtk client side window stuff. -jef
