Why are bluecurve-gdm-theme and fedoraflyinghigh-gdm-theme still in the distribution? The other gdm theme packages were deprecated after F12 (!?!), and I was under the impression that none of them work with new-style gdm at all.

git rebase OK on Fedora git branches?

Is it OK to use 'git rebase -i' to compress my mistakes together into a single working Fedora git commit? (Provided I don't push things in between or otherwise try to rewrite public history) I'm a bit confused by whether 'fedpkg commit', 'fedpkg build', 'fedpkg push' etc are doing magic that will be broken by this. Testing zsh completion for fedpkg

Hi, So with the git conversion, and some use, I was wanting some zsh completion goodness on fedpkg. Attached is a zsh function file which should cover just about everything. Also, something like: # Use local functions fpath=($fpath $HOME/.zsh/func) typeset -U fpath autoload -Uz compinit && compinit is needed in your ~/.zshrc (replacing $HOME/.zsh/func as needed). There are a few known issues such as the branch (just when cloning; switch-branch looks at remote branches as well since its available) and architecture lists being constant but I don't know of a way to reliably generate these. Anyone else know how it might be discovered? I'd like to get some wider testing on it than what I subjected it to. Constructive criticism welcome. --Ben

hi, why i not like the idea of systemd? it's something that dramatically change the system behavior. period. this is different from all other/previous unix/linux system. there're many config scripts, programs and third party packages which are assume the old setup. such basic changes need years for adaptation and testing. and we all know what happened with pulseaudio. everybody turn it off and remove it from the system in at least 3 fedora release, just because some of their apps are not working. imho it's the right time to release rhel-6 which still use upstart and no one have to use systemd for a few years. for real servers sysadms usually not use fedora. but i'm sure after that move no one will use fedora for servers. for workstation most users already use ubuntu. why? because it's more user friendly. do you think workstation users will like this kind of changes? do you think it'll be good to diverge from all other linux distros? do you think workstation users will see any kind of uplift because of systemd? imho none of the technical questions are real questions, these are the real questions. -- Levente "Si vis pacem para bellum!"

a note on order of arguements to systemctl command

The service command has a syntax like this: service servicename action where as systemctl has a syntax like this: systemctl action servicename.service This is inconvienient for the common case where more than one action is performed in sequence on the same service, since with the first ordering, one just hits the up arrow, ctrl-w, and then types the new action (with tab-completion). With the systemctl order, one must first skip back over the first word, which due to the awesome emacsness of bash keybindings is more of a pain. I'm not saying that systemctl's syntax needs to be changed.
