Hi
So why couldn't the Fedora project ask Fraunhofer (a german company, btw, so all this talk about 'Mandrake is a french company and not affected by patent law' seems rather weak) for permission ?
why is the statement that a french company is not affected by software patents enforced only in the US a weak argument?
If permission is to be obtained it should be in a legally binding non discriminatory way. I have a feeling that its not going to happen.
