Hi,
Has anyone heard from kanarip or able to contact him?
I've been attempting to contact for this bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223593
If there's no response in one week an issue will be filed with FESCo following the nonrepsonsive maintainer policy to review the ownership status of the packages.
For ruby maintainers please note that this has a significant impact on you, if you want to keep track of this, as he owns puppet, rubygems and ruby ...

Regards,
James

I'm not afraid he would not show up ... But I'd gladly pickup the ruby* packages, since he does not maintain single of them.

You're making it sound like Puppet is unmaintained which is not accurate. There are many comaintainers and provenpackagers working on it.

Indeed it has been updated, though facter which it depends on has not, but the point being following our processes ... should there be deemed a need for a mass orphaning of his packages then someone needs to pick it up.
In addition whilst he maintains POC for it as the "owner" the default assignee of bugs goes to him ...
If ruby and puppet maintainers didn't notice the orphaning as a result... then they would be at risk of (temporary) retirement which could cause confusion for a bit, rather than notifying and sorting it all out at once :)

Most people do hear from kanarip at undetermined intervals -- and my @fedoraproject.org address works just fine -- I have no messages from you.
I'm also on IRC, where people occasionally contact me, albeit it be about phabricator/arcanist for QA.
For ruby maintainers please note that this has a significant impact on you, if you want to keep track of this, as he owns puppet, rubygems and ruby ...
To be honest, ruby and a plethora of related packages are maintained by Vit Ondruch and members of the Ruby SIG, much more so then they are maintained by "the owner".
Kind regards,
Jeroen "kanarip" van Meeuwen

Ah great!
Might be worth checking your bugzilla address is valid since the needinfo flag should have been emailing you for a while.
Are you going to be able to update factor soon?
Do you need assistance in getting it updated?

But honestly, I'd be glad if you reconsidered being POC of packages you don't maintain. It would help to avoid this annual "non-responsive kanarip" emails.

Hmm.... okay it's been a couple of months now and the facter bug that lead me to this is still unaddressed...
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223593
It remains at 2.4.3 in all branches whilst the current is 3.8.0
Unless you respond with a specific reason that this is being ignored by August 31st I'll be updating this in the first week of September.
I urge you to listen to your colleagues in the Ruby SIG and change the POC so that bug reports will go where they are going to be reviewed and so that key packages like this get updated.
I'm genuinely surprised the very old facter hasn't hit the puppet or similar guys before now.
