I was able to burn FC3 cd's that passed the media check and installed by using the -dao option with cdrecord on my Fedora Core 2 system. The ones without the -dao option failed the media check and also failed during the installation.

I thought cdrecord defaulted to sao/dao? If it was defaulting to tao mode, that typically is reserved for multisession cds.
