Hi,
Is Glade3 available on Fedora7. I saw it has been stable for long time now and I found no package with name Glade3.
Is there no Glade3 in Fedora7 and if it isn't why is it so ?
Thanks

I just ran through the whole collection of packages in the main repo (setting up my laptop) and I saw the version of Gazpacho that's compatible with Glade3, but not Glade3 itself. Only Glade2.

Hi,
I no longer want to submit that package (I cannot get that package passed for a very long time, partly because my laziness.) How to cancel my review request and forward it to another contributor? Thanks!

Write in the comments that you're no longer interested.
Remove the FE-REVIEW blocker, and reassign to nobody@fedoraproject.org http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Extras/Policy/StalledReviews

Hi,
Do anyone care to tell when will I see glade3 in fedora7. It seems it has no future at the moment. I don't know much about package creation and maintain's so I guess I can't help.
Earlier it was python-twisted and now it's Glade. Some of the old packages I listed on this mailing list.
Waiting for glade3 on f7 soon !!
Thanks

With all due respect, Fedora is put together by volunteers. Just as I told you about python-twisted, things happen faster if you actually contribute usefully. You could also try to phrase your requests less like demands, I find in general that helps a lot more.

if you agree, i can take it over and upload an spec and sprm files for the next week.
Damien, do you already work to spawn a package or plan to ?

What is the current status on Glade3 packaging? Is Damien or Xavier trying to package it?

Xavier have created a package here [1], but i don't know if he has requested a package review yet.
I have used it for a while, i have found any problems yet.

Glade3 was put up for review, but that review seems to have been abandoned when Mathias Clasen, current Glade2 maintainer, offered to updated Glade2 to Glade3:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=177747
However. no Glade3 update has appeared, even for upcoming F-8. I wonder if Mathias would have any comment on this?

I haven't gotten back to this, sorry. I don't think replacing glade2 by glade3 is not a good idea after all, I think. So if someone would be willing to complete the review and import a glade3 package, that would be appreciated.

These review requests seem abandoned.
Would it be alright if I picked up the Specs and SRPMs, polished them up a bit and submitted a review request?
Happy hacking, Debarshi

Glade3 has been incorperated into gtk-2.12.0, and thus will be in F-8, its called gtkbuilder now and this is considered the future of glade (AFAIK)

This is so inaccurate that one could call it wrong. gtk 2.12 does contain GtkBuilder, which is a piece of code very similar in functionality to libglade, which it will obsolete over time. The file format used by GtkBuilder is different from the glade file format, and we hope that ui builders will soon start to support the GtkBuilder format in addition to the glade format.
GtkBuilder is in no way a replacement for glade, gazpacho or glade-3
Matthias,
+ So, should I make the package and submit the review?
+ If yes, what should be the name of the package? glade3 or glade?
+ Should it be parallely installable with glade2?
Thanks, Debarshi

Well, there is already a package and a review; it would be enough to revive it/take it over.

Since I am not sure that glade3 is actually a drop-in replacement for glade2 I would say that it should be glade3 and should not conflict with or obsolete glade2. But I haven't investigated this closely.

That is what I meant. :-)

libglade (http://www.jamesh.id.au/software/libglade/) and Glade (http://glade.gnome.org/) are separate projects.

AFAIK, you are supposed to open a new package review request and reclose the older one as a dup of the current review request. Otherwise the package status reports would show the original submitter as the package maintainer.

Matthias Clasen wanted me to "revive it / take it over". I hope that is what I did.
In any case, when I request for CVS, I shall be enlisted as the maintainer. So hopefully there would be no issues.

What I outlined is the way to revive it.

The package status reports at http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/PackageStatus use bugzilla queries to determine the maintainer and not CVS.

My mistake then. Thanks for the pointer.
