Hi Everyone, I have started the Permissions and Access control pages: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/Drafts/AdministrationGuide/Permissions I haven't created a new page/links on the wiki before, so apologies if I've done it wrong (it all seems to work though...so far ;) ). I have just created a basic structure before work, and will add content (hopefully) soon. I'm not really sure what is meant by Access Control - so please feel free to edit! Frields Bob Jensen Karsten Wade Summary: --------- * In response to the Unity respin docs and howto's: We're willing to take in documentation of all sorts as long as we have a guarantee that the doc will have a maintainer. We encourage docs to follow our standards to make a transition easier. It's also good to check the topics and see if they fit in with the DUG and the AG, so we don't have overlap with our own docs. TODO: get the discussion going so we can take a final decision next week * Bart is going to do some research on the "we've always wanted"-knowledge base, tracking down all resources on the subject to get this implemented * Release notes: PO files due tomorrow (22. Oct), Paul will follow up with rel-eng. * We've got a lot of open bugs (103), most of them concerning old and/or outdated docs. Time for some triaging. * Maintaining of docs needs to be tied to the Fedora release process. (EOL = approx. 13 months after release). We offer web hosting, web development and IT infrastructure services to global customers. We work exclusively on Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP technologies. RH6 was my first exposure to GNU/Linux. I'm a voracious reader of books. I read both - fiction and non-fiction. My profession requires me to read lot of technical books and manuals. I have already joined the Fedora Ambassadors Group. Last Saturday, I gave a talk on GNU/Linux in an event organized by ITPF, Bangalore. I have been helping people to migrate to free and open source software for about three years. I have also helped few business migrate to free and open source software successfully. I would like to contribute to the Fedora Docs Project. I would like to have your feedback on where to start. Apart from having a flair for content writing, I have experience in writing PHP/MySQL applications, building websites using Drupal and Joomla!. Hey all, We've just been talking in a marketing meeting about trying to get some documentation up for creating re-spins before F8... The Fedora Unity people ahve done a pretty good job with a lot of documentation already so we wondered about pulling it across for docs.fedoraproject.org - perhaps with a bit of editing and pointing back to unity? My name is Giorgi Shonia, now I'm a student studying (Indiana University) in US, Indiana, Bloomington, I'm Georgian. One thing I myself missed at fedoraproject/wiki were pages for people who would like to set up and configure homeservers. Most of default configs work fine, but in some case tuning is needed and if appropriate to Doc project, I'd love to put up that record. Computers are not my profession, most of my background comes from my hobby interest. I am doing some self-study coding in C. I keep an ancient server at home for learning and gaming fun. Volunteers needed for easy job

Since I'm flooding the airwaves with my prattle of late, I'd like to ask two or three volunteers -- it's especially helpful if they're relative newbies -- to run some installations using the F8 IG draft as a guide. (You can find it at pfrields.fedorapeople.org if you haven't seen it already.) If you find problems, file a bug in Bugzilla.
