Self-Introduction: Connor

Hi everyone, I've been using Fedora for about a year now and want to contribute to Fedora Docs. I'm a CS student from Singapore (UTC+8) about to start college later this year. I have been using Linux for more than 5 years now and also have more than 6 years of hobbyist programming experience. Unfortunately I do not have much experience writing professional documentation, but I am very eager to learn. My goal with contributing to Fedora Docs is to help newer users find their way around their systems, so they don't have to fumble around like I did. I think my Linux experience should be sufficient for me to help in writing some basic docs. I'm thinking of writing some quick docs to help other users in configuring and using their system. Would that be a good starting point? Thank you. Adding gaming to docs

According to https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-docs/contributing/adding-new-do… I should consult here first. History: Revival of Gaming SIG has been desired and as a part of planning this revival Matthew Miller has suggested updating documentation. This page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Games could use a revamp. Ideally even, it could be migrated to https://docs.fedoraproject.org/. -- Matthew Miller <mattdm(a)fedoraproject.org> Fedora Project Leader I have done some minor editing on the wiki side and tested migration as well. Migrating the Fedora Developer Portal to Fedora Docs

Hi folks, (CC: docs ML) I've seen the Fedora Developer portal continue to exist as a standalone project separately from the Fedora docs, and I don't quite understand why this is so. I think it'll be much better if the information there was moved to the new Fedora docs---so that users and the community have all the info they need in one place. It'll also imply that the work/resources that are being used to develop and maintain whatever platform the Developer Portal is using can be directed towards improving the docs project. What do you think? I've started a discussion here. quick docs menu addition and fixes

Hey, can someone review (and hopefully, merge) these: https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/quick-docs/pull-request/324 https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/quick-docs/pull-request/325 The first one makes the left menu better by splitting up the "Usage and Customization" category on what seems to me to be natural break: about half of them were about adding software or otherwise using repos and packages. master main migration

Hi, in the context of the master to main change [1], I would like to ask the change team for automatic migration from master to main for the following repository: https://pagure.io/projects/fedora-docs/%2A https://pagure.io/projects/fedora-docs-l10n/%2A It basically requires: * to change de default branch to "main" in https://pagure.io/fedora-docs/docs-fp-o/blob/prod/f/site.yml#_6 * to set "|branches: master" (master becomes the exception) | |* change translate.fedoraproject.org projects setting| | | |Do we have documentation to update somewhere or other code to check? | || I don't see any additional changes to apply to translations-scripts, it's using the default branch without asking anything special to use specifically master. I can remove some default values set to master in function names, but anyway the values are always set before calling the functions. install docs note for getfedora

I am on the phone walking my dad through installing Fedora Workstation. He knows he needs to create a USB stick, and so the first thing he did was install Fedora Media Writer _to the USB stick_.
