Ok as on the tasks page, i will move the rpm guide to a new page stub with the docs template in mind. i will take over as maintainer for it. But i saw a mail corresponding to an order in which tasks are to be completed: do i go according to that or should i move the rpm guide to a new page... i require guidence here.
Thanks

Go ahead and start writing up some tasks here:

As for the order of completion, this is related but different. We are suggesting that *all* writers/editors in this project work to get each guide completed, one at a time. I.e., in serial not in parallel.
Of course, some work happens in parallel, but our "push to publish" is one guide at a time.
This is a suggestion, optional, etc., but it might be a good way for us to get next versions published.

As we get these guides finished, we'll also be transitioning them to CVS and XML, meaning we can have members of the whole group take just a small number of chapters to convert to DocBook XML. This gives everyone a chance to learn how to use it, and CVS. I put a little more information up this morning on the wiki concerning DocBook:

I heard a rumor that Bart had some useful notes after his last wiki2xml experience. Raw though they may be, can we get them up on ... DP/Wiki2XML(?)?

Hello, should there be a link to the rpm guide on the docs.fedoraproject.org wiki. or is it that only the completed tasks are put on the bar on the left hand side. anyway there is no reference to the rpm guide on the docs.fedoraproject.org wiki. Its almost as if the guide is not present on the site. A few questions
1. can there be a link on the main page that points to the rpm guide?

Hello everyone, i have added the first task to the RPM guide page. If there are any problems or if the task is not clear please email me with the corrections that need to be done or feel free to edit the page(just let me know). Thanks in advance

Second part is correct -- only completed docs are supposed to be published on the front of docs.fedoraproject.org.
anyway there is no reference to the rpm guide on the docs.fedoraproject.org wiki. Its almost as if the guide is not present on the site.
It's true that it is not made obvious anywhere; you have to know where to look.
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/drafts/rpm-guide-en/
That content is generated from:
cvs.fedoraproject.org:/cvs/docs/rpm-guide/
You can check out that module from anonymous CVS or with a user account. It may need some updates to work with current version of the toolchain; let's find out.
A few questions
- can there be a link on the main page that points to the rpm guide?
The RPM Guide is two years out of date. I agree there could be a box for "DRAFT" documents on the front of docs.fedoraproject.org. This guide needs more work, then we can put out a new draft.
We've talked about having an automagic way that builds all the documents from HEAD in CVS, then publishes them at for example docs.fedoraproject.org/rawdocs or /docs-rawhide. So, there are a couple of ways we can make the guide available while it is being worked on.

A "make validate-xml-en_US" generates no errors, so I'm guessing we're good to go there.

My predilection would be to avoid the ever-present lure of "too many links" syndrome and just have a "Drafts" link after the existing boxes. That could point to a list that also includes the wiki.
