Is someone on the Docs list willing and able to write the F8 test3 release announcement? You can draft it on the wiki and post a link here for people to edit or critique. Easy pickings for those who are looking to pitch in but not sure how yet.
Paul,
What is the new stuff present in Test3 ?

You can find that information on the release notes beats, especially the OverView:

Digging that information out is part of writing the release announcement. Folks from release engineering might be able to help.
Exactly, thanks Rahul. Paulo, are you handling this then?
I didn't see a reply so I was wondering if Paulo or someone else has written this yet? If not I will take an attempt at it :)

There you go -- have at it! It would probably be good if you can produce a draft by Monday evening. We would have to check it, comment, and finalize before release so you need to plan time for that. Thanks for volunteering!

Sorry to reply to myself, but Jesse Keating just dropped the following late-breaking info in #fedora-docs:
14:20 < f13> stickster_work: hey, there are a couple hot items for the release announcement of test3. 1) if your install method was DVD (maybe even nfs iso) pirut may crash when you run it with a traceback about HAL. Dropping to the console and yum upgrading at least pirut should fix this. 14:20 < f13> 2) knetworkmanager is not functional, but it is known to not be functional and will be fixed/replaced before F8 final.
Jason, could you confirm that you'll have these in the draft announcement tonight*? You can post it on the wiki under, say:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F8Test3/ReleaseAnnouncement
Or an equally good or better place of your choosing. :-) Thanks for volunteering to do this.
P.S. We should *not* put these in the Release Notes at Docs/Beats since they are hopefully ephemeral issues.
P.P.S. *I know I said Monday night originally, but it's going out Thursday morning, so tonight would work. Please leave us about 24 hours to nitpick on it before it goes out, thanks!

We need bug reports associated with this to keep track of them. If you are going to list bugs in any announcement, do ensure that you provide bugzilla links.

I'd love to, I'm very keen to contribute but not really sure how yet :)
Unfortunately I have not tested F8 or really know anything about it...so I guess that would take me out of the running?
Also I'm still waiting to hear back on approval for cla_redhat:(
Thanks,
Murray :)
