Since the elections opening/closing are time-based this would require a cron job.

Tbh, I am more inclined to have something similar to what is suggested in https://fedorahosted.org/elections/ticket/19 which I think is close the the nuancier stats page: https://apps.fedoraproject.org/nuancier/stats/1/
