D&B contact?

Chris, We've been in the middle of some budget fiddling and trying to work out a possible sponsorship deal with someone who might pick up our FUDPub tab, which has set me behind on sending in that D&B contract. I'd like to talk directly to the manager (cc'ing you because I don't want it to look odd), to explain why the contract is late, and ask for a short extension. FUDCon Ad in FSOSS Program

Paul, I've reserved space in the FSOSS program for a half-page ad for FUDCon. If you're interested in this, and assuming that the event won't be fully booked by FSOSS (Oct 30), could you have someone create a B&W ad that will fit in a 8" (wide) x 5" (high) space and mail the file to me? Budget

Good news: I've rearranged the budget page with a spangly new table that attempts to lay out how we can split costs between Q3 and Q4, and between the budgets for Community Architecture (Max) and Fedora Engineering (Spot/me). Bad news: We're over budget, significantly -- almost $3K. Points to consider: * Do a much cheaper lunch on Sunday + Monday, or drop it entirely (Save $1-2K) * If FAmNA's sponsorship covers two of the listed community attendees, that saves approximately $1.2K. * Cut per diem (meals) that we fund for Red Hat attendees. Probably not too painful, and may save us as much as $1K total. * Airfares listed are approximate. We need each of the people being funded, whether they're on the Fedora Engineering team or the Community Architecture team, to get proper airfares into the table ASAP. If the difference is high enough to justify it for any individual, we may need to make arrangements for specific people to fly into BOS, stay overnight with someone in our community, and take the bus to Toronto. Any other ideas for how we can cut costs? -- Paul W. FAmNA contribution to FUDcon

FAmNA was planning to sponsor one North American Campus Ambassador to attend FUDcon but someone dropped that ball (all fingers point at inode0) and now it really seems too late to use that to promote the Campus Ambassador program this fall. Perhaps we should have a hackfest on the Campus Ambassador program. FAmNA would still like to sponsor one promising new contributor. If no one objects, we will shuffle funds from our pot to the FUDcon pot to enable Paul to help us do this. As a small token of our gratitude to all those who contribute to Fedora we will be sending along a supply of Fedora case badges so that at least everyone who pre-registers will get two case badges with their conference badge. If FAmNA can be of any other help with the event don't hesitate to let us know. John

Mel was kind enough to put an ad together -- but it raised the issue of times. I think we want to go ~10am-6pm daily, including the technical session day, and do FUDPub 7pm-11pm on Saturday. Call to RH Toronto

Just FYI for the list: I set up a call this afternoon to Red Hat's Toronto office, to give them an overview of FUDCon and how it generally works, followed by some specifics of what we're trying to achieve at this particular FUDCon. Skating Friday night?

Hi, In the winter, Toronto's city hall has an outdoor skating rink with lights and stuff. There are skate rentals available. I think it could be a lot of fun if we organized an outing for FUDCon attendees. If we keep the Boston bus, we could use it to carry a bunch of people. Even if we don't have the bus, we could just take the bus & subway down. What do you think? Maybe the Friday night? Andrew
