[Fedora-i18n-list] Japanese language related issues

How do you do. I am noriko mizumoto, ja-translator from fedora-trans-ja. As you may know, japanese community is pretty much acitive for fedora project. Now several issues related to ja lang have caught my attention during the meeting with Nakai-san in Japan. I would like to share this information and discuss amoung here pro-active developers widely reside to improve. If any information is wrong, please correct me. “Fedora Project and Japanese community” [Community side request] * Fedora.jp, one of active community group in Japan is requesting the following to Fedora Project,but not improved yet. 1. Bugzilla is in English only. - Proposed to make a copy Bugzilla to create ja version for i18n. - Fedora.jp will relay between Bugzilla and Bugzilla Japanese version. 2. Fedora page is in English only. - Proposed to open html and arrange space to translate them in each language. 3. It seems not fully open to public especially for i18n. * No one in Red Hat is in charge for Fedora.jp (Responsibility). * More Fedora community groups have turned up in Japan, so that Fedora.jp address to them to merge into Fedora.jp. [Fedora-trans-ja side] * We need to secure space first for both Bugzilla ja version and Fedora page ja version. * We are concerning that people may not be able to distinguish between Fedora.jp and Red Hat Fedora Project. People should know explicitly whether they are contributing Fedora Project direct or via Fedora.jp. * There is no problem that multiple communities turning up. I think no need to merge. helo, i want install fedora from local hard disk, but didnt find bootdisk.img, i found only http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/2/i386/os/images/di… oot.img and it is 6MB, if I make boot disk from it there is messages BOOT FAILED m.

hellow all I devloppe the swing applications and servlets using tomcat ,but in fedora 2 tomcat work with gnu gcj compiler and gij interpreter can't initialize any swing or awt application,and i can't find the root cause for this problem . my question is: if i install the sun j2sdk1.4.2 ,and i set the JAVA_HOME at the profile file,this don't cause a conflit with gcj,spacialy for tomcat?? [Fedora-i18n-list] Unable to input Japanese on stock FC2 intall: Can't add "Input Method Switcher"

Hello everyone, I recently installed Fedora Core 2, and have been trying to get Japanese input working under an English environment (en_US.UTF-8). When I installed the system, I selected Japanese as a language that I wanted to support. IIimf packages look like they are installed: [devans@localhost devans]$ /sbin/service IIim status htt (pid 2360) is running... [devans@localhost devans]$ /sbin/service FreeWnn status jserver (pid 2397) is running... [devans@localhost devans]$ /sbin/service canna status cannaserver (pid 2372) is running... I think those are all the services that I need to have running - they are all started automatically (good!) When I try to add the "InputMethod switcher" applet to the panel, nothing happens. I'm not sure if this is related to the nothing showing up on the IM Switcher when in English bug that I've seen mentioned, but I can't get any sort of Japanese input to work anyway. What should I try next? I think I will install the newest RPMs from http://www.apac.redhat.com/iiimftest/files/fc2/, but I would like to figure out what is going wrong - I assume that a default install with Japanese language support should at least have the IM switcher show up. Any help? dave

[Fedora-i18n-list] Can't use a user dictionary under IIIMF

Hi, A new FC2 user reported that he could use his user dictionary (canna) through kinput2 but now on FC2 he can not use it with IIIMF. He used xemacs to register words into the user dictionary. If you register words using xemacs, this information is added to /var/lib/canna/dic/user/hoge/usr1.ctd. This means xemacs's Japanese input system is looking at it. Which dictionary is IIIMF looking into? khriano

[Fedora-i18n-list] Call For Use of i18n keyword for bugs

Hi, Our bugzilla has supported 'i18n' keyword on Keywords field. and people can see from http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/describekeywords.cgi how many I18N related bugs are opened. (of course it's not only for I18N, though). but actually we have many bugs for I18N, which isn't added 'i18n' keyword. so I would like to call for use of 'i18n' keyword if you need to file an I18N related bug. it will helps us to track the I18N bugs. Please use proper keywords for people who wants to check out the bugs extensively. Thanks, -- Akira TAGOH

[Fedora-i18n-list] KDE keyboard layouts

I'm trying to set up KDE to be able to switch between keyboard layouts, but the list in 'KDE Control Center -> Regional & Accessibility -> Keyboard Layouts' is empty. My current keyboard is set to US international, but I want to be able to switch to Norwegian keyboard layout using the KDE keyboard switcher. I have the following KDE packages installed: kde-i18n-Norwegian-3.2.2-2 kdegraphics-3.2.2-1 kdeaddons-3.2.2-1 kdelibs-devel-3.2.2-4 kdemultimedia-3.2.2-2 kdesdk-devel-3.2.2-2 lockdev-1.0.1-2.3.1 lockdev-devel-1.0.1-2.3.1 kdenetwork-devel-3.2.2-1 kdelibs-3.2.2-4 kdebase-devel-3.2.2-4 kdeutils-devel-3.2.2-3 kdegraphics-devel-3.2.2-1 kdepim-3.2.2-2 kdeadmin-3.2.2-2 kdenetwork-3.2.2-1 kdesdk-3.2.2-2 kdeutils-3.2.2-3 kdepim-devel-3.2.2-2 kdevelop-3.0.3-1 kde-i18n-Norwegian-Nynorsk-3.2.2-2 kdebase-3.2.2-4 I'm using Fedora Core 2 Test3.
