I am pondering a little the best approach - I think the real sender is cvsextras(a)fedoraproject.org, but I am not sure if we want cvs commit messages or not on fedora-i18n-bugs. I will bring it up for discussion in the next fedora-i18n meeting and ask others for advice. For now I removed i18n-team watchcommit on translate-toolkit/devel but not sure if that is the right thing yet. Various ibus issues

I intend on filing bugs on this, but here are a few quick things I found. • BUG: Switch F-10: imsettings switch from SCIM to ibus, gnome-panel crashed and restarted itself. Difficult to reproduce. • BUG: ibus-anthy sends errant ENTER key during kanji candidate selection ∘ tomboy bullet example: start with prompt after an empty bullet ∘ nihongo > SPACE > ENTER (sent to application) > ENTER (commit candidate selection) • BUG: Switch from SCIM to ibus, scim's icon remains in the notification area. (SCIM to ibus works though.) • QUESTION: When you switch between ibus and SCIM with imsettings, you need to restart the desktop application for it to work. Is this expected? It's always up to the project maintainer to decide whether to receive translation files manually through bug reports, emails, attachments to a wiki page, etc. or through an automated proxy like Transifex, either on their master branch or a different one. If you think it doesn't work for you at all, you can always pull the plug and receive translation contributions with the traditional way. The software is mostly written and maintained by Fedora volunteers, and we're trying our best to make it work right and fit well with the workflow of developers. Sometimes a bug might slip and 3am-commits might not seem quite right. Sometimes things might go wrong, like any piece of our infrastructure. ibus and F11

Hi, Peng Huang and Fedora i18n are submitting a Feature to use ibus [1] as the default input method system in F11. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/IBus iBus was added to Fedora during the F10 cycle and is under active development. We now feel that it is ready for wider testing and to become sufficiency stable and featured to be the default input method for Fedora 11. There will also be some more discussion about this in the Fedora I18n meeting tomorrow, announced last week. What is iok ============ iok is Indic Onscreen Keyboard. It currently shows Inscript keymaps for following Indian languages.Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Oriya, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu. Using drop down menu you can select any of above supported Indian language. Drop down menu listing depends on available inscript keymaps at location /usr/share/m17n/. You can then start directly clicking on keys appearing in iok graphical interface. It will not only show you keyvalues(characters) for English keys on your QWERTY keyboard from selected inscript keymap but also allows you to send those characters to currently active window. Currently, there is no Indic Onscreen Keyboard is available that will parse mim keymaps and allow to type in Indian languages. This application is using inscript maps installed in /usr/share/m17n directory. If no inscript maps found in /usr/share/m17n then this application will work as English on screen keyboard. Iok also supports default keymap loading based on current locale and its inscript map availability in /usr/share/m17n. Other functionality this application provides is customization of system installed inscript map. User can swap 2 English key values and also can reassign some other new character to existing key in keypair (Key,Value) from existing inscript map and write new keymaps which can be used after restarting application. New feature has been added to iok that will graphically swap 2 English key values in a inscript keymap by just dragging first key button over second button. Users can now use their own favourite keymaps other than inscript provided those keymaps MUST be written for single English key to character pair. iok is hosted at following locations http://iok.sourceforge.net and https://fedorahosted.org/iok Overview of Changes from iok 1.1.0 to 1.2.0 ============================================== - Added new feature of DragNDrop buttons on keyboard UI.
