GNOME has plans to redesign Region and Languages in gnome-control-center.
I thought it would be good to have more of us look over this and review
it,
so that we can provide early timely feedback on the planned design
changes.

If its possible to check, then it is fine.
Else lets have a simple checkbox after user logs in.
Any progress here?
Let me know if anything need to do from my side.

Thanks Luke for analysis report of survey inputs. From post, its clear,
survey helped to identify number of hidden issues.
Dunno what should be time frame, but soon we should revisit this inputs.
I was thinking, if we could also take this blog to Fedora community but
simply duplication is good. IMO we should make small post with link to
Zanata blog post at community blog.
Thanks,

From your earlier reply, I thought you are asking for some external
links with definition. :)

Please mention those problems. I think that will be good start to Form
translation group as suggested by Zoltan in earlier reply.
I would love to participate as a member of this group with you all :)

Please, its not only me.
Rather the whole active group present At FAD thought there is need of
FG governance group. We have created this proposal in Globalization
FAD itself. [3]
I am just opening up this for wider group for suggestion and feedback.
Positive/Negative feedback are welcome. I think this is way we can
learn and improve further.
Again will be very helpful, if you can draft problems you think
presently open somewhere or mention in mailing list itself with other
thread.

Hi All,
I am sure, most of the people working with Fedora I18N, L10N from 5-6
year must be aware regarding Fedora L10N Steering Committee. [1] As far
as i know this committee was active around 2009 and very effective.
During Fedora G11N activity day discussions, we again felt there is
need for some kind of official committee to drive Fedora Globalization
activities. Fedora is growing faster with number of different domains
and G11N also need to adapt those changes quickly to remain on the track.
For this purpose and in line with [1], we were thinking of Fedora
Globalization steering committee. I have created initial proposal for
it. [2]
Its open for feedback, please feel free to share other active members,
discuss in your respective language groups. This is just initial
proposal and i am sure, we can improve and make it more effective with
active participation.

Pravin Satpute

Thank you Noriko to sharing this report of FAD.
I'm a newbie of l10n and I don't know perfectly english language.
For this I understand the importance of translation team, and I thank you
very much for this optimism injection by your report and your new ideas for
this team.
I hope one day to attend a fedora meeting, like a fad, perhaps again in
Japan that I love :-D
Best regards.

Hi All,
We had some initial discussion during Fedora 23 development cycle on
this. Ticket No. [1]
In last one year at least 3-4 enthusiast students came to me and asked,
i want to become Fedora contributor tell me how can i start it.
From G11N perspective, i think its good if we plan our improvement
plans for upcoming Fedora release and simply ask new contributor to go
through it and ping existing owner or mentor and take over the bug.
This solves couple of things.
1. New contributor get list of task planned for ongoing Fedora release.
There is good chance that his improvement he can see in coming Fedora
release.
2. He gets mentor as well :)
There is one second objective behind this. We do lots of changes in
Fedora and somehow miss to highlight it. I think this page will give whole
picture of improvement plans for Fedora and after release it will be useful
for release notes and talking point. We cant do everything with Change
proposal. So here it comes.
I have created Wiki page. [1] If you are planning any particular
activity for Fedora 24. From i18n. l10n or Zanata point. Please mention it
there.
