Hi Fedora-i18n-list Team,
According to James, I need install necessary font to display chars for Nei Ma. Will this font be included in FC5? (Please see his reply below.)
One more question. I found "Chinese support" from the FC5 test 2 installation does not add:
scim-tables-0.5.5-2 scim-tables-chinese-0.5.5-2
Will they be added in the future?
Thanks a lot!!

Hi, You need install necessary font to display those chars.
Boshiamy is a commercial input method, so it's impossible to include it in scim official package. However you may find Boshiamy table for scim on internet.

Hi James,
I got the other input methods after I installed the scim-tables-zh packages. Thanks for your help!
But still, "Nei Ma" doesn't work. (Attachment unicode_fc5.jpg) And do you think it's possible for scim to include "Boshiamy"?
Lastly, I found "Chinese support" from the FC5 test 2 installation does not add:
scim-tables-0.5.5-2 scim-tables-chinese-0.5.5-2
Thanks again!!

Hello,
I just downloaded and installed Fedora Core 5 test 2.
There's one thing I discovered about scim. There's only one kind of input method for traditional Chinese - Chewing (新酷音). I wonder if other major input methods like Cangjie, Zu Yin, Jian Yi, Dayi and Boshiamy can also be included.
Besides, I tried "Nei Ma" method in this version. But no characters come out. Is that a problem?

Thank you very much!! Tina

Hi Tina,
It depends what character are you trying to enter using Nei Ma. But the package fonts-chinese should cover most of the frequently used characters.
The problem you mentioned on scim-tables-chinese should be fixed: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=177891
It will be included in Test3.
Cheers, Leon

This is a yum bug in the handling of conditionally required packages in comps.xml.
scim-tables-0.5.5-2 scim-tables-chinese-0.5.5-2

The packages are there, please use
yum install scim-tables-chinese
for now.
