I think our polluting of / with retry's is from the nightly cron job for ansible changes. I think this will fix it. Pros and Cons for disk partitions.

I would like to better document the reasons on why we set up systems the way we do in various places. One of the ones that I end up 'breaking' every now and then is putting in extra partitions on systems where our standard is to have just /. I come from a background where you really can't have enough disk partitions so I end up separating things like /var/log and /home out on boxes where there are many users. [Which then causes problems where we have assumed one partition] -- Stephen J Smoogen.

Fedora 21 Alpha Freeze is now OVER

Hello all. Releng shipped on Tuesday, and so we are ready to let loose the dogs of change into the infrastructure again. The Beta freeze is scheduled to start at 2014-10-14.. so you have 20 days (including weekends) to get stuff done before the next freeze. -- Stephen J Smoogen.

Freeze break: update the bodhi app servers

Hi all, I wish to update the bodhi-server package on bodhi01/02 servers with the latest package that I deployed to the releng machines weeks ago. All it'll take is this command: sudo -i ansible-playbook --extra-vars="target='bodhi' package='bodhi-server'" $(pwd)/update_packages.yml At the moment people that *only* have commit privs on the epel7 branch are unable to push updates. Upgrading bodhi to the version that is already in our infra repo should resolve this issue, and it'll be easy to downgrade if unexpected explosions occur. Thanks, luke

Freeze break: increase timeout on download rsync

Some folks have been running into timeouts syncing some Fedora targets from phx2 download servers. In particular Red Hat globalsync that syncs to places like Brno where we have a lot of Fedora QA folks who want the latest bits. I'd like to increase this timeout and see if it helps them. Freeze Break Request: bodhi on relepel01 config file change

Hi all, Due to a bug in a recent bodhi release, the EPEL masher is currently unable to complete a push. The bug is due to it hashing the i386 repodata, but polling x86_64 on the master mirror. I will fix this properly in the next bodhi release, but in the mean time we can easily work around the bug with this single config file change in puppet that specifies the arches in a specific order: http://paste.fedoraproject.org/134731/80821141/ This change only affects relepel01.
