How to set default session type to Plasma for sddm

Hi How do I set the default session type for sddm to offer to be Plasma? I'm currently getting Gnome Classic? This is F22. Thanks Roderick Johnstone

nntp (aka, usenet) client in kde?

I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also, search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is kde specific. -gene

session restore broken?

xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-19.20151206.fc23 (re)enabled dri3 by default

In the not-too-distant past, a xorg-x11-drv-intel update reverted back to default dri2 because dri3 was to unstable and too-often resulted in plasmashell freezes, see also: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-8616 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223477 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223477 A new update came this past week turning dri3 back on, https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-606ca05253 Please help test this if you are able. For *me*, it's pretty good, but I've now experienced at least 3 plasmashell deadlocks (when left idle and screen off) similar to past results when using dri3. And... oddly, chrome seems to freeze similar to plasmashell sometimes too. -- Rex

Recent Apps doesn't seem to be populating in AppDash

Hi, It seems like recent apps has stopped populating itself in AppDash starting with 5.6 update. I also noticed my recent apps history was wiped out on update. User history should never be deleted without a users permission. -- Regards, Sudhir Khanger, sudhirkhanger.com.

F24 & F25 entire panel, and desktop context menu, missing

I have 32 bit F23, F24 & F25 installed on an i845G test machine, host gx260. Plasma seems to work normally, though painfully slowly, on F23. IceWM works fine on all. F24 was created as a live (DNF) upgrade from F23 last night, while F25 was created similarly from F23 originally and later F24 many weeks ago. Deleting the k* files from ~/.config doesn't help with $SUBJECT. Replacing ~/.config with counterparts from F23 or F25 doesn't help, other than getting Konsole to autostart and thus allow me to do something besides shove the mouse pointer around. No .xsession-errors is being generated. https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/14439 shows a similar result. DNF group install of "KDE Plasma Workspaces" fails

I am trying to install the KDE Plasma Workspaces on a fresh installation of Fedora 23 via the Live image and it keeps throwing up dependencies for xorg-x11-drv packages that do not exist. I have a couple F23 installs laying around here and they aren't installed on any of them, nor are they up in the public repository ( http://mirror.cs.princeton.edu/pub/mirrors/fedora/linux/releases/23/Everyth…). And what is even odder, is that everything I try to run 'dnf groupinstall "KDE Plasma Workspaces" it comes back with another xorg-x11-drv package it says it can't find, and neither can i. KMail/sendmail problem

I'm running Fedora-24(beta)/KDE, and sendmail/email (through KMail) is failing. When I try to send email I get the warning "Failed to transmit message", and journalctl has the entry "sendmail.service: PID file /run/sendmail.pid not readable (yet?) after start: No such file or directory". I've checked, and sendmail.pid is in place: ================== [tim@william ~]$ sudo cat /run/sendmail.pid 2829 /usr/sbin/sendmail -bd -q1h ================== Googling for the journalctl entry, I see people have been encountering this problem for years. But I haven't seen any solution suggested. Several of the comments suggest that it is a systemd problem. If anyone can offer advice, or even elucidation, I should be most grateful. Ps I posted this to fedora.general, and was advised to post it to fedora-testing. When I sent it there I was advised (by Ed Greshko) to send it here, since he thought it was a KMail problem, rather than systemd.
