With the latest slip it looks like 3.17 rc6 will be available by beta freeze and that most likely (no rc8 or other odd delays) we could have 3.17 available as a zero day update for the beta release. And then we would have 3 weeks after the beta release before final freeze for fix ups and another two weeks after that for a 0 day update if warranted.
I must have had 17 on the brain. The subject sghould have had f21 not f17.

Yeah, we're keeping an eye on it. No decision yet. Alpha is almost certainly going out with 3.16.y though.

I was assuming it was too early (in the 3.17 release cycle) to include 3.17 in alpha. But it looks like being able to get wide testing of it in beta should be practical. I would be wary of releasing 3.17 with f21 if it hadn't been used for the beta. Though releasing with 3.16 and having 3.17 available as a zero day update might still make sense if we don't get it into beta.
