On the latest kernel/devel tree.
$ cat git-branches.mk GIT_DIR = /home/caiqian/linux-2.6-utrace/.git head-utrace = utrace-ptrace branch-utrace-ptrace = utrace branch-utrace = tracehook
$ make git/utrace/prep <it hung here witout any output>
Checkout 2009-11-01 works fine.
$ make git/utrace/prep make[1]: Entering directory `/home/caiqian/kernel/devel' ./gen-patches < kernel.spec > kernel.t.utrace.spec --name utrace v2.6.31 v2.6.32-rc5-git3 refs/remotes/upstream/master tracehook utrace utrace-ptrace make[2]: Entering directory `/home/caiqian/kernel/devel' Downloading linux-2.6.31.tar.bz2...

That is the "make sources" part. Just try it again. IIRC it just runs curl from some fedoraproject.org site. So if that is hanging, then talk to the Fedora infrastructure folks.
Oh, no. Please re-read my email. The above was the one that was working. I just ignored any below that "Downloading" line.
The original hung was here, $ make git/utrace/prep <it hung here witout any output>
2009-12-01 tree was working correct apart from some other issues.
$ make git/utrace/prep
<it hung here witout any output>
No such problem for me. Look with ps what is hanging. Note that since this weekend Fedora pkgs checkouts using cvs.fedora.redhat.com no longer work and cvs will tend to hang for a long time if you use them. Try a fresh checkout being sure to use cvs.fedoraproject.org instead.
