Newbie here, how to I make network information persistent? I'd like to set the IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS to stay persistent throughout reboots.

Using Fedora 10+, You should be able to right-click on NetworkManager and use the Connection Editor. I'm guessing that data is probably stored in gconf, which should persist in the overlay just fine.
