Flashning Panel Rawhide

Heads up Anaconda and HW requirements

I just installed LXDE F12 spin on a old PIII laptop with 128 RAM ( which runs fine btw and it's boot time is ca 10 seconds longer than on latest version of Windows (7 ) on much more powerful HW ). I had to remove the laptops disk and install F12 LXDE via external usb on another laptop due to Anaconda refusing to install without minimum of 256 MiB RAM. Filed bug #571439 Got closed wont fix. This Anaconda behavior will affect all spins ( such as LXDE ) that target users with low ( memory ) HW ( usually old hw ) not sure if there are any cpu restrictions as well.. Just a heads up.. JBG

SWG Spins discussion and follow-up actions

FYI, these were the notes from last Monday's Board Strategic Working Group meeting, where your responses to the Board's questions were noted and discussed. From this, there are several specific actions we would like to see taken: # the problems hampering Spins due to long GNOME dependency chain requirements has a ticket open for FESCo to discuss. https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/345 # hosting space for Spins for direct http downloads will be made available by Infrastructure. Each spin should file a request for space with infrastructure. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/RFR # being able to offer AutoQA individual Spins should get involved with QA Team to ensure their needs are addressed as well as those of the rest of the Project.
