Fresh install fedora 19 - lXDE eth0 not able to change parameters in network config

Hi All, After a fresh install of fedora 19 LXDE on a 32 bit 386 server eth0 parameters cannot be set with the network app, firewalld was reset along with the network manager, eventually it accepted new parameters for ip etc but failed to activate the eth0 port. Tried a second card checkedb Bios settings, ifconfig etc to no avail- anybody got any suggestions, as I cannot upgrade at the moment due no network connection. All indincations from the network apps tell you its failed but nothing else. Still Trouble-shooting at the moment.
