Hi all,
Aeskulap is broken in f23 - caused by a gdcm update I think. Unfortunately, I don't know much about either source - neither gdcm nor aeskulap - and am not sure if I can fix it. Would someone here like to try their hand at it? If we don't fix it, aeskulap will have to be dropped from f23. We can't carry broken packages :/

What exact gdcm update?

Did you checked the patches used in Debian?
Kind regards
Andreas.

Hi,
Hiya,
Sorry for the rather late reply.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. It could be gdcm or dcmtk. This is the build log: https://ankursinha.fedorapeople.org/aeskulap/build.log

I have, yes. They haven't changed as far as I can tell.
I can't find aeskulap for the "experimental (rc-buggy)" version. This version also has dcmtk 3.6.1, which may be why - it doesn't build with it.
The latest version of aeskulap in debian is in "sid", where they have dcmtk 3.6.0 - this version works on Fedora too, but is only on Fedora 21 now.

I've filed a bug here:
https://github.com/pipelka/aeskulap/issues/2
It looks like the original upstream, so there just may be a fix.

It seems that upstream is basically dead - so my hope that something will be fixed is quite low. The last commits were pull requests from Debian patches but nothing else.
Sorry, I can not help any more - dcmtk is also not really my field. Feel free to ask for help on debian-med@lists.debian.org - perhaps some imaging experts might step in.
Kind regards
Andreas.

I'll do that. I guess it's the only way forward right now.
