.NET development catagory

I've noticed when using the install DVD recently that I in the development section there is no entry for .NET development tools. This seems like an easy improvement we could make for .NET users on Fedora by adding a bit of visibility. However I am not familiar with how to go about doing this, indications are that we need to edit the comps file. Anyone know what the procedure is for getting such a change into Fedora? - David

mono-uia in Fedora 12

I was wondering if it would be possible to get the mono-uia stuff into Fedora 12? There was work to get it into 11, but gtk-sharp was one rev to old (2.12.7 If I remember right) Thanks, Stephen

Surveying active Fedora Mono packagers

Hi all, It would be nice to know how many active Fedora packagers are on this list. There have been communication issues in the past (see fedora-devel list), with some important bulk updates being obsoleted because individual maintainers push newer updates before the old ones have a chance of hitting stable. If you could respond with: - packages currently maintained - packages currently comaintained - packages you would like to see added - other responsibilities you might be willing to take on The mailing list is currently administered by David -- David, are you considering coming back to packaging work? Otherwise, we might need someone who can coordinate the current packagers to administer the list. Responsibilities would include, for instance, trying to make sure that any new Mono packager get inducted into this list. First results from Mono packaging rework

Installing F-spot on a system without Mono installed went down from 23 MB to 15 MB. All achieved by shuffling some binaries and assemblies around the subpackages. More details here: http://identi.ca/notice/8827856 -- and should be aggregated to Fedora Planet in the fullness of time. The question is whether we should push this to F-11 or not. F-11 is currently on Mono 2.4; F-12 on 2.4.2.3 . I'm *assuming* there is no assembly version bump between the two, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have an F-11 machine and can help verify this? Do a scratch F-11 build of the new F-12 Mono SRPM -- get it from here: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=129110 and see if you could get it installed without affecting packages such as banshee, f-spot, tomboy. status of pending F11 ppc64-related updates

Hi Xavier, Hi Toshio, Hi All, I've seen that the issue with the obsoleted bulk update of mono packages got recently some attention on fedora-devel: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2009-August/msg01096.html There are some more mono packages tagged with dist-f11-override which are not pushed to updates(-testing) for quite some time (and which are not in this obsoleted bulk update). Specifically I'm interested in the following packages, since they are blocking me from pushing out an update of f-spot: package: f-spot-0.6.0.0-1.fc11.ppc64 from fedora-updates-testing-11-ppc64 unresolved deps: mono(NDesk.DBus.GLib) = 0:1.0.0.0 mono(Mono.Addins.Setup) = 0:0.4.0.0 mono(Mono.Addins) = 0:0.4.0.0 mono(Mono.Addins.Gui) = 0:0.4.0.0 mono(NDesk.DBus) = 0:1.0.0.0 Toshio, Xavier: What's the current status of pushing out all of these packages? Going to request ppc64 rebuilds are pushed stable today

Hey everyone, I'm going to request the current ppc64 rebuilds for F11 are pushed to stable today. they'll be live after the queue is processed again. I haven't looked into the NDesk and other dependencies of tomboy yet -- I'll look into building them for testing today. -Toshio

bug in mono-addins blocks f-spot update

Hello, in order to push f-spot from updates-testing to stable I need the following bug in mono-addins to get fixed: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=514936 The problem is in short, that the mono-addins code throws an exception if no local addins are found which prevents f-spot to find even its global addins. The bug report already contains a patch which I've ported from a newer version of the mono-addins package. I've already asked Paul Johnson, the maintainer of mono-addins, to apply my fix and/or approve my request for commit permissions for mono-addins, but unfortunately he hasn't responded for 3 weeks - probably he's on vacation. ;-) Would it be an option if somebody with provenpackagers status could apply this small fix and push out a new release of mono-addins (only Fedora 10 is affected)? updating boo

Hey, I'm trying to update boo to the latest version (0.9.1). Most things work fine but I get a strange stacktrace while trying to register some assemblies into the gac.
