When to Obsolete

When should a package be Obsoleted vs letting it be autoremoved by dnf? Example: Say you have a python module with both python2 and python3 subpackages. The only user of the python2 version has switched over to the python3 package. Then you decide to stop building the python2 subpackage. Should the python2 package then be obsoleted, or should it just be left to be garbage collected by 'dnf autoremove'? Scott

Help needed with errors while upgrading PHD2

I need help from someone more experienced to upgrade package PHD2 to it's newer version. The problem is PHD2 bundles some pre-packaged libraries, which I had to remove when I firstly imported the package in Fedora. In the previous version (2.6.4) I managed to remove the relevant parts from cmake scripts and to successfully get the program to build. But now with version 2.6.5 the build process stops because the linker finds undefined references to functions... I would appreciate any advice how to fix that. The current build results are available in my Copr repo [1] where the build log [2] and the src.rpm [3] can be found.
