time of day in RPM changelogs

In a package review I came across a changelog entry in this format: * Thu Jul 25 12:24:56 CEST 2019 Name <nn(a)example.com> - 0.1.0-1 RPM appears to be able to parse that, but the time of day and the timezone code aren't in the format prescribed by the Packaging Guidelines. On the other hand it's not clear that the policy is meant to explicitly forbid such precise timestamps, as it seems mostly concerned with the placement of the version and release: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#changelogs Does the policy need to be updated to allow a time of day and a timezone code? Or does it need to be clarified to clearly forbid them? Ideally the date/time format variants that RPM accepts should be documented somewhere – in a spec file syntax specification perhaps – and the guidelines should point to that specification. RPM macro flag with optional value

Hey! Can I define an RPm macro that takes a flag that may or may not have an argument? Aka the behavior should be: %macro -> no flag used, assuming user doesn't want the X feature. %macro -X -> -X flag used without a value, assuming user wants the X feature, with defaults. %macro -X foo -> -X flag used with a value, assuming user wants the X feature, but want's to use "foo instead of the default value for X. Packaging Guidelines / Users & Groups

Hi, the wiki-based packaging guidelines note that users or groups created by a package should not be removed [1]. This has been omitted from the current guidelines [2]. Is that deliberate (i.e. this rule no longer stands) or an oversight? Should %license always be installed in /usr/share/licenses?

Hi. An interesting question popped out during a PR review [1]. Should %license always be specified relative and installed to /usr/share/licenses like this: %license LICENSE Or is it totally OK to specify it absolutely like this: %license %{_whatnot}/%{name}/LICENSE ?
