I'm packaging PHD2 [1] and I already removed a lot of pre-built libraries which are only needed for Mac or Win. My doubts are for cameras/qhyccdlibs/*.a, cameras/qhyccdlibs/qhyfirmware.zip and cameras/zwolibs/*.a: should I remove them, and so remove support for those cameras under Fedora?
Thanks Mattia
Hi Mattia,
I know these *.a files from INDI packaging, they are nonfree stabic libraries for QHY and ZWO ASI cameras. So they have to be removed. Please ensure to build with INDI support, so users have a way to use many different cameras including QHY and ZWO. Its core (libindi) and some drivers are free and in Fedora, additional drivers can be added without any recomplation of the rest.
Greetings, Christian

Thanks Christian,
yes, I've done some local test build and INDI support works fine. At least, I think so... I don't have neither a computerized mount nor a CCD, so I can't fully test.
I'm waiting for upstream to include some pull request, after that I will try to remove those static libraries and drivers. I will post an announce on astronomy mailing list as soon as I have the package in COPR, asking if someaone is willing to test the functionality before posting a review request.
