Is it possible to do a scratch build against a package that's only available in the testing repo?
I just pushed a new package (qpid-proton) and it's not yet hit the updates repo. I have a second package which will depend on it that I'd like to start working on and testing. But when I tried to do a scratch build it failed insce qpid-proton is not in updates yet.
Is this possible or do I have to wait for my package to get into updates?

No, but you can submit a buildroot override to have it included, http://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/override

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? The package I'm trying to scratch build (perl-qpid_proton) depends on qpid-proton-devel, which is a subpackage of qpid-proton. When I tried to add qpid-proton-devel-0.3-3.fc18 it said it was an invalid package on the above webpage. But when I don't then the scratch build fails saying it can't find qpid-proton-devel.

The name of the package you want is to add to overrides is: qpid-proton-0.3-3.fc18
(the name of the 'base' pkg or srpm)

That I did, but it seemed to not make the subpackage available. So I deleted and am now trying to recreate it but it says it already exists...

you need to edit the old one with new end time and then wait until koji wait-repo --build=qpid-proton-0.3-3.fc18 f18-build finishes

I've been sitting on the above commandline for about 20 minutes now and it's not coming back. I've tried submitted a new buildroot and am told it already exists. But I still don't see the existing one, even when I select "Show Mine" (which returns an empty list).

it can take more than 20 minutes for the repo to refresh, but it's all set now and you should be able to submit the required build
