Hello ppc list ,
I don't know where I should report this issue, if this is not the
correct place, please tell me where it is, thanks.
I can't build opencv-3.1 on ppc64le the builds always ends with :
{standard input}: Assembler messages:
{standard input}:36678: Warning: end of file not at end of a line;
newline inserted
{standard input}:39048: Error: unknown pseudo-op: `.l295'
{standard input}: Error: open CFI at the end of file; missing
.cfi_endproc directive
c++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus)
Please submit a full bug report,
with preprocessed source if appropriate.
See <http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla> for instructions.

This machine has a long history with fedora. I initially installed
Fedora 12. I _think_ I did a complete re-install with Fedora 16 or 17
(whenever the secondary architecture started I guess). Since then I
have used yum, dnf or other methods to upgrade the release.

The best I could suggest in to do an install with an old image that
works. I am not sure which the last one was. There was a post some
time back that suggested the correct version. It may have been as
late as Fedora 20, but could be earlier. Once you have a basic
install (do the minimum) start upgrading using yum and later dnf.
At the moment I am still using yaboot to boot the machine (I have
Debian 8 and Yellow Dog 6.2 installed also). Debian only boots to
text as I have not been able to get X11 working from it. Since Fedora
26 works I do most work with it except setting up yaboot after a
change in the kernel (which I am doing at them moment).

Hello,
I am running Fedora Core 26 on a PowerMac G5 (late 2005). uname -a
gives:
Linux howitt 4.15.17-200.fc26.ppc64 #1 SMP Thu Apr 12 18:02:37 UTC 2018 ppc64 ppc64 ppc64 GNU/Linux
The last version of firefox that works on my machine is
firefox-54.0-2.fc26.ppc6. All of the later versions crash. That is,
versions 57, 58 and 59. The following extract is from my log when I
attempt to run firefox-59.0.2-1.fc26

I am using fvwm (fvwm-2.6.7-4.fc26.ppc64) as window manager. Is there
any known problem that might explain this? Has anyone else
encountered a similar problem? So far, as a workaround, I use `dnf
downgrade firefox'.
