Hello, I tried to install FC4 on my new PowerBook G4. The track pad in not detected at all. I have tried everything but still it was not detected during installation nor after installation.

A bit late but what is the output of:
cat /proc/bus/input/devices

If this is a recent Powerbook it's a USB touchpad. A driver for this device is available through kernel 2.6.13-rc3-mm1 and higher -mm versions (drivers/usb/input/appletouch).
At the moment it's easier to build the kernel module by yourself: http://popies.net/atp/index.html
For extended functionality synaptics xorg driver is needed. So it would be nice to have an official synaptics package for ppc. Builds at least with a modified spec (ppc added to archs). But iirc is Paul the right person to ask... :)
I still run my own driver without synaptics and haven't tested Stelians latest version. Will try it soon.

That or just run 'yum update'

File a bug against the synaptics package.

Fixed for rawhide for the installer I'd like to know what
/proc/bus/input/devices shows on one of these boxes - to ensure I get kudzu detecting it correctly and configured.
I'll also consider a FC4 update once I know it'll be configured correctly with s-c-display --reconfig

Hmm, doesn't work... aarg, I'm running rawhide ;)

Uh, this was fast. Thanks.

This will not work out of the box at the moment, at least for 15 and 17" models. The radeon driver of xorg-x11 is broken. xorg-x11-6.8.1-ati-radeon-dynamic-clocks-fix-2.patch causes problems. David should know about it: bug #152648.
Additionally the native resolution of 15" models is not supported (1280x854). For 17" (1440x900) I'm not sure.

Grr. I gave them the fix for this months ago.

1440x900 works fine.
Perhaps needless to say, but it's working... Thanks.
For the case it's needed: Changed part of cat /proc/bus/input/devices

Are you sure? I get no option for 1280x854 when running system-config-display --reconfig. Once manually configured it's there of course (without --reconfig).
Bug report for this: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=151459 (I wonder why this crap must be hard coded)

Don't post HTML to public fora. Did you try updating to the current erratum kernel?
