Hello,
I have learned that Jopr has now been folded back into RHQ (apparently
this was decided in September last year). My understanding isthat it means
that RHQ would now be able to fully manage a Jboss instance (i.e. doing
deployment, config, monitoring and perf management).
Now I have been testing the latest RHQ (3.0.0B03) and as far as I can
tell, yes, I can manage most of the JBoss AS functions (or at least a
number of config screens are starting to be there).
Now, what surprised me a bit is that, unlike embedded Jopr, I am unable to
deploy an application (EAR, WAR, etc) via RHQ (and in fact, this is the
only functional difference I could find between the RHQ JBoss plugin and
Embedded Jopr).
So my question is: Is this just caused by the fact that the JBoss AS
plugin is still "work in progress", or was this done on purpose? (and if
so what is the reason behind it?).
Thanks for your help.
Gilles.
