monitoring open http sessions on a jboss server

Hi, is there a way to monitor the open sessions of a jboss server? I see I have some metrics for the http connector, and the requests per second value is really useful, but we need some more detailed statistics. It would be the best to have some browser to select the parameters... ;) for webapp dveelopers it would be such a great benefit! Afaik, there're some internal values in the jboss server, should I extend the JBoss plugin to get a value, which isn't got now? Attila

issues with RHQ using EAP 6.3.alpha

Note that there is one known issue now in master since we are on EAP 6.3.alpha. That version of EAP cannot be reloaded. This means that currently "rhqctl install --start" does not work. Some odd NIO exceptions occur and neither the agent nor the GUI work (both don't work probably because they go through the same web connector). I get an exception similar to this - and it could be the same problem: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1090291 (note that BZ's title indicates it is only a problem on Windows, but I see it on Fedora.) To workaround, you simply do "rhqctl install && rhqctl start". This should go in the release notes of the next RHQ release. This is not a problem in later versions of EAP, so when we move to another EAP version after 6.3.alpha, this problem goes away.

RHQ agent port issue

When I configure the agent to listen on port 16463, everything works fine when ./rhq-agent.sh start is issued. However, when I stop the agent and restart it with the wrapper script, the wrapper for one reason or another wants to listen on port 16163, why is that? I did a full clean config with the rhq-agent script to change the port to 16463. Why would the wrapper want to listen on the default port even after the full clean config? How do I fix this issue?

RHQ storage node issue in cluster - Down state

We are trying to get the storage nodes connected in the cluster with 2 VMs, 1 instance on each VM. We end up seeing 1 up in Normal status, the other in Down. RHQ agent running, but server still showing offline in GUI

Getting the following error in the agent log: The sender object is currently not sending commands now. java.lang.IllegalStateException: The sender object is currently not sending commands now. Command not sent: [Command: type=[remotepojo]; cmd-in-response=[false]; config=[{rhq.timeout=1800000, rhq.send-throttle=true}]; params=[{invocation=NameBasedInvocation[mergeInventoryReport], targetInterfaceName=org.rhq.core.clientapi.server.discovery.DiscoveryServerService}]] Any idea how I might fix the agent?

RHQ storage node user/password name error

Getting this error and didn't change any username or password, just used the defaults. Any idea why? V4.11 RHQ. 09:27:19,999 WARN [org.rhq.enterprise.server.storage.StorageClientManager] (EJB default - 2) Storage client subsystem wasn 't initialized. The RHQ server will be set to MAINTENANCE mode. Please verify that the storage cluster is operational.: ja va.lang.RuntimeException: Authentication error on host xxxxxxxxx.xxxxxx.com/xxx.xxx.xxx.xx: Username and/or password are incorrect

RHQ agent failover server list update?

Is there a way to update the RHQ agent server failover list? We have 2 servers in the HA cloud, and 1 shows both agents (order 0 and 1) in the RHQ GUI, and the other only shows 1 agent in the topology with order 0. I tried to do a rhq-agent.sh -n, failover -check to see if the agent was 'stale', but that didn't update the server list. Any ideas how this can be achieved? Can I manually change a config file to make this work properly?

Cassandra RHQ plugin & Cass 1.2

I was looking at John's RHQ plugin for Cassandra and noticing the comments state it doesn't work with Cassandra 1.2 yet. One of the things I'm interested in from 1.2 is monitoring some of the 95/99% percentile access times for my column families. These happen to be nicely grouped already under two beans for ReadLatency and WriteLatency, but there are some others that appear as single attribute beans as a side effect of using Codehale's Metrics package. For example: org.apache.cassandra.metrics:type=ColumnFamily,keyspace=MyKeyspace,scope=MyCF,name=BloomFilterDiskSpaceUsed has a single attribute exposed "Value". I'd like this grouped with name=BloomFilterFalsePositives and name=BloomFilterFalseRatio. I'm sure I could do something clever by subclassing the existing JMX classes and possibly adding some sort of grouping property in the rhq-plugin.xml, but was wondering if some mechanism already exists.
