Does anyone have guidelines or suggestions on using RHQ on servers in both active-active or active-passive configurations?
If monitoring physical components, registering the agent on each server in the cluster with its physical IP seems to make sense (although in an active-passive arrangement where some filesystems are on a SAN, the filesystem may not be mounted on the passive node).
If monitoring a logical service, registering with the Service's IP may make sense. Does it matter that the RHQ server may connect to an agent on one node and then later to another node as the traffice is load balanced across an active-active cluster?
