what's the best/recommended way to implement regular maintenance window? I know I can disable resource, but I don't know how to schedule it.

This is an excellent question and unfortunately I don't have a real good answer.

Right now, the best bet is to write a CLI script, that you trigger e.g. from an external Cron job.

For the longer run, we are thinking of changing the alerting code, which would also include "real" maintenance windows, but that will not arrive soon.
