since I use 4.9, the Pg under the RHQ consumes most of the resources.
open files reached 20K during the weekend, which stopped the whole server working, and also the used physical memory increasing monotonically. I have had to restart RHQ server only, did not touch Pg.
what should I do to prevent this? I have never suffered from this with 4.8!

That are 20k open files for the RHQ server or for Postgres? If for postgres - can you determine the number of open connections?
If it is the server, can you run a lsof -p <pid of the server> to see what files are open?

If I knew :-/ Are you using the postgres agent plugin?

A few questions…
1) What is the command line you are using to restart the RHQ server?
2) On what platform are you running?
3) If you run ulimit -a what is reported for open files?

Well,
restarting Pg and RHQ saved tha day, all resources feeling all right now.
My current problem is, that I see graphs, where a platform has all the measurements, while the host isn't available most of the time.
