HI!
Are there any ready-to-use RPMs of sssd 1.9.4 for RHEL5 or CentOS5?
Ciao, Michael.

We haven't built one, because we thought there are no RHEL5 users who would like to run the latest SSSD. We still do build the nightlies for RHEL5: http://jdennis.fedorapeople.org/ipa-devel/rhel/5Server/x86_64/os/ but not the stable releases.
The upstream Makefile has a "make rpms" target that should work.

By the way I'm not opposed to providing a repo on repos.fedorapeople.org that would contain the latest 1.9.x for RHEL5. I could even make the first release, but I could use some help maintaining the repo from then on.

I tried to go the route with my own build. But where to grab the source tar.gz of a more recent libdhash? config.log says:
Requested 'dhash >= 0.4.2' but version of dhash is 0.4.0 You may find new versions of dhash at http://fedorahosted.org/sssd/
But I simply do not see it. :-/
Ciao, Michael.

dhash was rolled into the ding-libs source tarball. Try https://fedorahosted.org/released/ding-libs/ding-libs-0.2.91.tar.gz

Ah ok. I've successfully built ding-libs with "make rpms".
But when trying to install the RPM yum complains:
Error: Missing Dependency: libdhash = 0.4.0-39.el5 is needed by package sssd-1.2.1-39.el5.x86_64 (installed)
Can I do something like rpm -U --nodeps with risking that the current sssd installation on this system gets broken?
Ciao, Michael.

Yeah, this should work fine. I'm pretty sure we've never broken ABI with ding-libs, so the latest version should work fine.
Ok, now I'm stuck with this output of OpenLDAP lib checks when running 1.9.4's configure:
checking for LDAPDerefRes... no configure: error: The OpenLDAP version found does not contain the required type LDAPDerefRes
I guess this is because the OpenLDAP 2.3.43 libs that come with RHEL5 does not contain support for the experimental deref LDAP control.
Since I don't need it my question is: Any chance to disable this when running configure?
Ciao, Michael.

RHEL 5.6 and later have an openldap24-libs-devel package that you can build against. You need to install it and then patch the sources with http://paste.fedoraproject.org/6249/79475136/

RHEL 5.6 and later have an openldap24-libs-devel package that you can build against.
This does not seam to be in the standard 5.6 repo. In which repo can I find that?
Ciao, Michael.

Sorry, I was incorrect. It's in 5.7, not 5.6.
