Running Xorg session temporarily

Greetings, I am logging into a Sway session at tty (no greeter). I may do the greeter thing sometime but I have another issue. Recently, I ran a proprietary software (BricsCAD) while in a Sway/Wayland session. The application started but the first dialog had nothing on it -- Just window frame and the backround (no labels, fields, or buttons). I couldn't proceed any further because that dialogue determines the next action. I raised a support ticket to see if the vendor can resolve the issue. The support team is asking that I run an Xorg session and tweak graphic scale/resolution to provide feedback. Is there a way to do this without polluting my Sway setup? I built from "Minimal Install" (Server ISO, no DEs). Can someone advise on how I can run Xorg and test this app for feedbacks? Meanwhile, I have no intention of dropping Sway for any DEs. Something tells me the issue is minor, but I can't prove that without feedbacks. I tried "Awesome" on my build but I get thrown-out after I log in -- back to tty login. I guess X-server is not running or something. Any ideas? Regards Onyeibo

Bi-weekly "Sorry, no meeting today" notification - 2022-07-13

We're moving in the right direction. I don't recall any things that require us to triage, vote or discuss online, so I'll replace the meeting with a short progress summary. I'll still hang around the chatroom at the meeting slot, if anyone wants to bring up anything important. * The gitlab group is set up and already in use. The group Developer ACLs are synced with SIG membership from FAS and will be overwritten on manual changes, but I'm able to assign roles per project basis, which should be acceptable for now. * Anthony did a great job creating the sway ostree configs[1], setting up CI and publishing (working!) rawhide test tree. 🎉 Things are a bit unstable with incomplete software lists, so it's still early to start testing. * Anthony also updated the Sway Spin draft proposal page[2]; comments and suggestions are welcome. * There's an issue tracker repo[3] where I'm trying to collect all the spin related unresolved discussions (work in progress). Participation is welcome, esp. in the software selection part. SIG meeting?

Hello everyone, We haven't done any SIG meetings for a long time. Let's meet sometime next week to discuss our future plans. Mostly I want to talk about Sway spin, as there are people interested in using it and even people interested in contributing.
