cant add pykickstart

Hallo, I have seen that pykickstart is ready for translation. I have taken it from the status page, then I try to add it.po to cvs whith the following results: $ cvs -f add 'it.po' 2>&1 cvs server: scheduling file `it.po' for addition cvs server: use 'cvs commit' to add this file permanently $ cvs -f commit -m 'It po added' 'it.po' 2>&1 Testing it.po... **** Access allowed: tombo is in ACL for pykickstart/po. RCS file: /usr/local/CVS/pykickstart/po/it.po,v done cvs server: ERROR: cannot write file /usr/local/CVS/pykickstart/po/it.po,v: Permission denied cvs server: Couldn't open rcs file `/usr/local/CVS/pykickstart/po/it.po,v': No such file or directory cvs server: cannot remove /usr/local/CVS/pykickstart/po/it.po,v: No such file or directory [Terminato con stato 1] Suggestions? Where to bugreport missing messages in summary/desc

The summary and description of "mlocate" is missing from the po files in desc and summary. Who is to blame here? Should I bugzilla the mlocate component or the specspo component?

System menu instead of Desktop on panel

as i see in FC5 Desktop (default string for GNOME) was replaced from System (like Ubuntu) but in Greek FC5 uses the 'Desktop' string. Where i can find this string so i can change it to 'System' Also i ve noticed that some Greek translations didnt make it in FC5. example from redhat-menus #: ../desktop-files/redhat-spreadsheet.desktop.in.h:2 msgid "Spreadsheet" msgstr "Λογιστικό φύλλο" although translated in time, Greek menu says "Spreadsheet" NikosC

XML2PO is weird!

It seems that xml2po(1) will sometimes expand entities and will sometimes _not_ expand entities. There is a "-k" or a "--keep-entities" that claims "Don't expand entities", but it lies. Evidently there is a fallback mode in xml2po(1) where *all* entities are expanded. I know there is an "-e" or "--expand-all-entities" switch, but I'm not using it. For example, generate a .POT file: $ cd example-tutorial $ xml2po -o the.pot en_US/example-tutorial.xml and then apply it (UNCHANGED!) against the original XML file using various combinations of "-e", "-k" and no switches at all: $ xml2po -o junk-e.xml -e -p the.pot en_US/example-tutorial.xml $ xml2po -o junk-k.xml -k -p the.pot en_US/example-tutorial.xml $ xml2po -o junk-plain.xml the.pot en_US/example-tutorial.xml and then compare the files using diff(1). There are NO differences. Anybody care to explain? Or suggest a work-around? -- I'm already an anomaly, I shall soon be an anachronism, and I have every intention of dying an abuse!

Getting translations into FC5

Seeing that the absolute devel freeze date is around the corner, how do we make sure translations appear in FC5? I'm mostly worried about missing Serbian redhat-menus translations, since redhat-menus is one of the "essential" components for a localized desktop. Bug #176139 has been opened for a while, but we've had no indication if this will happen in time for FC5. Also missing are sys-conf-netboot (bug #176144) sys-conf-network (bug #176145) sys-switch-im (bug #176150) (and, I guess of lesser relevance for FC5, rhn-applet #176141 and up2date #176151) sr.po and sr(a)Latn.po translations for these were all made available in CVS to RH developers before FC5test3. Can Fedora Translation Project maintainers please advise? Thanks, Miloš Komarčević
